Congratulations Montessori Europe! We have got a live online discussion forum from 1st April 2008. This will be a way to allow us to stay in touch in between congresses. We ask all members to take part and contribute. All you need is Montessori Europe membership and an internet connection. The discussion forum will allow us all to share ideas and also to move our policy development along faster. It will help us to work towards the same objectives that we work towards every year at our congresses, but now we can extend our work through the whole year.
HOW TO GET LIVE

WHAT TO DISCUSS
The topics possible in a discussion forum are limitless. We are limiting them for the first few months because we want the discussions to be active. Please go into the discussion at least once a week and read what others have been saying and then make a contribution. We recommend that you give your time and energy to one topic. In that way our discussions will become purposeful.
In the beginning we have chosen four discussion groups. Each group has a moderator/leader. The moderator will point the discussions in the direction that will be best for continuing the work started at the previous congress.
- Ongoing Development Groups 1 & 4 – Policy Development and Communication (Co-ordinator Herbert Haberl)
- Ongoing Development Group 2 – Professional Development and Training – (Co-ordinator Clare Healy)
- Ongoing Development Group 3 - Development of Schools and Pre-schools – (Co-ordinator Lena Degerman)
- NOCME (National Organisations Council Montessori Europe). Within this group there will be sub groups that have already been set up by the NOCME group in Amsterdam in October 2007. (Co-ordinator Ivan Juras)
Within each discussion group there is a possibility for the moderator to start new discussion threads. For example in Group 1/4 there could possibly be two discussion threads (sub-topics):
- How to influence government policy in your own region – who has ideas?
- How to get members to communicate across Europe.- who has ideas?
In three months time and again in Oxford at our congress, we will review our main topics. We will add more main topics later if you the members think we should. If you have any other ideas about topics or how the discussion forum should be organised please contact Anja Kohrs office@montessori-europe.com . We will take note of your comments when we are modifying in three months.
